This series ,done during 2011-2012, is a portrait of a group of transient youth in San Diego, who at an early age formed a crew known as XII XII Loww Life.

With over a hundred drawings and thirty paintings, the series follows a cast of characters as they interact as an urban clan, coping with street survival, in search of drugs and attending underground punk shows in San Diego and Tijuana.

Using the method of live sketching I work like a reporter, rapidly drawing a moving social scene, documenting the nature of their interaction.

In each work the subjects are gesturing, changing position or arriving and leaving.

More than one emotion emerges and the result is energetic. The viewer experiences animated body language, emotional transitions and gets

to know the gritty world of 

XII XII Loww Life.
