A Home in the Bromes was taken during the superbloom summer of 2020 on the Door County peninsula of Wisconsin. One might wonder how I noticed this one long stemmed brome out of a field of millions of them but, fluttering in the wind with a little black spot, it caught my eye.
I leaned in for a closer look and the clumsy little black spider must have seen me reflected in it's miniature eyes and darted into the depth of it's soft, silken home. I thought to myself, "that spider is living it's best life!"
The image was taken in the field and is a natural, no-cut vignette, no bromes were harmed in the making of this photograph and the photographer left the scene pondering a spiders perfect world.
